Hell Hounds are Fire element monsters which can be located within the Black Castle. They appear with the Knights of Sandora, acting as guard dogs for them, or perhaps War Dogs.
Appearence[]
The hell hound resembles a brown furred guard dog with a medium sized tail, glowing red eyes, and a pointed horn upon its head.
Battle[]
The Hell hound deals medium to low damage and is not too much of a threat for the early teens levels when many players will arrive; they mainly stick with their normal physical attack of biting a single character's throat. However, it is advantageous to finish them off quickly once they hit red health, when they are prone to using Burn Out for around four times more damage than the regular attack. For example, at around level 13, Rose's high damage and speed make her a likely source of enough damage to put the Hounds in the red without killing them in one shot, but at that level, she would have enough HP to survive two Burn Outs.
Unless attacks reduce it to 37 health or less, the hell hound should be one of the easiest creatures within the Black Castle, with low damage and low health, although it is a little fast. Compared with the Knight of Sandora enemies who always accompany them, Hellhounds have 75% the HP and 80% as much AT.
- Bite Slash - Lunges towards a single target and bites at their throat
- Burn Out - Launches a ball of burn out from their face dealing low fire damage towards a single target
- Escape - may flee battle
The Hell Hound may evade attacks, with a 120% A-AV

Drops[]
Hell hound drops the spell item Burn Out with a 10% probability. It is not the best odds for a 10G item. The end of a battle with a Hell Hound and a Knight of Sandora pair gives 24G. Like all the single target attack items except for Spinning Gale in Lohan alone, and the items that are only temporarily available in a second location, Burn Out is available in two locations: Fueno, and the Forest next to Seles.
